Are you trapped in a time machine?(Part 2)

It’s important you understand that your old, self-limiting beliefs and feelings are really a record of your past. Your emotional reactions and responses are often a record of your past. They are generally not grounded, based or anchored in the safe present moment. The present moment being - RIGHT NOW, as you’re reading these words.

If you think about it, it’s always RIGHT NOW, it’s never not RIGHT NOW. You will never experience anything other than a RIGHT NOW moment.

However, we have just been conditioned, distracted and drawn into the comforting and safe mind illusion, that the alternatives to RIGHT NOW are the past and the future. When in reality, nether the past or the future exist. At best, the past is just a collection of moments that stood out to you. After all, you don’t remember every moment of your past do you? Only particular moments.  And the future is just an idea, a world of illusion our minds creates. The only thing that ever, ever, ever exists is NOW.

Now is not and can never be anything other than now.

Why is this important to understand?

Well, if you can help someone understand that often their mind and body are lost in the illusion and confusion of the past and future. Then from that truth, you can often support a person to disconnect from the painful past and stressful future and guide that individual to discover and ground their body, mind and emotions in their own peaceful present moment.

You can often help a person discover and realize that in this moment - NOW - their body is safe and that their brain can settle and rest.

Anyway, back to what I was saying a moment ago about beliefs.

Since beliefs and perceptions are based on past experiences, then any beliefs you hold about yourself comes from your past.

The absolutely crucial question to ask is…Are your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself and your place in the world true?

Or…did you just make them up based on mind activity and your past thoughts and experiences, which shaped your beliefs and perceptions…and now they feel right and true?

Even if they were true at some point in time. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re true now. Just because a thought popped into your mind, doesn’t mean its true.

We don’t look at it that way of course. Because we have become addicted to our beliefs. We’ve become addicted to the emotions of our past and how they make us feel.

We see our beliefs as truths, not ideas that we can change.

We condition ourselves to believe all sorts of things that aren’t necessarily accurate and true. And many of these things have a negative impact on our health and happiness.

Once any of us accepts, believes and surrenders to an outcome without consciously thinking about it or analyzing it. Then we become suggestable to that particular reality and that becomes our emotional future.

And if we memorise the emotions that keep us connected to the past or future & those feelings drive our thoughts - Then our bodies are literally living emotionally in the past or future – in the present moment.

And that’s a recipe for disaster!
